چکیده
Wooden multi-storey construction (WMC) offers an alternative building solution for urban consumers seeking a low-carbon, sustainable lifestyle yet, the literature on consumer experiences in newly constructed WMC-apartments is sparse. This exploratory study develops understanding about choices with built through thematic interviews of residents and property managers five cities across Finland Sweden.Contents analysis reveals that neither material nor sustainability triggered residents’ initial interest new apartment. Residents found WMC appealing but traditional housing choice criteria (e.g. location, floor plan affordability) guided ultimate purchasing decision. Notwithstanding, expressed developed neighbourhoods suffered from limited services trusted future long-term development would increase service availability.Wood was experienced as mainly positive assessed together overall aesthetics, durability aspects building. builders considered apartment’s during resistance to changing climate conditions).

On-site greywater treatment and reuse in multi-storey buildings.
The paper presents a study of a pilot plant treating light greywater for seven flats. The pilot plant combines biological treatment (RBC) with physicochemical treatment (sand filtration and disinfection). The pilot plant produced effluent of excellent quality, meeting the urban reuse quality regulations, and was very efficient in TSS turbidity and BOD removal: 82%, 98% and 96%, respectively. CO...
متن کاملAtrium-assisted Natural Ventilation of Multi-storey Buildings
Buoyancy-driven displacement natural ventilation in a simple multi-storey building structure is investigated. The storeys are connected to a common atrium and top-down-chimneys, and the internal heat gains of the storeys are represented by localised point heat sources on each floor. The heat sources generate thermal plumes which entrain the surrounding air and transport warm air upwards. Simple...

Regulations and constructions vary across Europe, both now and in the past, thus explaining a diversified situation in Europe. Acoustic regulations for housing exist in most European countries, valid for new housing. H...
متن کاملReliability Indexes in Earthquake Resistant Design of Multi-storey Frame Buildings
A reliability function β(Q) is defined as the ratio of the expected value of the natural logarithm of the safety margin of the structural system divided by its standard deviation. The safety margin is the minimum value of the ratio of the story deformation capacity to the corresponding responseassociated demand, and Q is the peak ductility demand of a simplified reference system subjected to th...
